Welcome to the P2 class page! We've made a great start to the new term and there's lots more to come. During the course of the year we will look at 5 different topics - 'Marvellous Me,' 'Toys,' 'Winter,' 'Living Things' and 'Holidays.' We'll also have lots of interesting visitors come to talk to us and we might even go on some exciting trips! Stay tuned to see our photos and find out all about our learning.
Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday so remember to bring your gym shoes to school. Tuesday is also our library day when we have the chance to change our books.
We were very lucky to have a visit from Genevieve the Goat this week. Genevieve taught us us how to look after our bodies and stay healthy. There was even some time for hugs at the end. What a great day!
We had a lovely day celebrating the European Day of Languages. We had croissants and hot chocolate for snack, listened to Disney songs in French and German and did lots of fun activities in the hall with Clemence. Do you recognise the song below?
We went on a walk through Botanic Gardens to look for signs of autumn this week and found lots of acorns, coloured leaves and bare trees. We then visited the post office to send the postcards we had written in class to our mums and dads. What a surprise! Maria from the post office told us all about how the postal service works so we will be experts in our post office role-play area next half-term.
Beverley from Sustrans visited to tell us all about how bikes work. We've been learning about pushes and pulls during our 'Toys' topic and we discovered that you have to push and pull at the same time to turn a bike.
We couldn't believe it when we found a letter from Santa in our class this week! It turns out his reindeer had escaped and he needed some help to get them back to the North Pole ahead of Christmas. It's fortunate we're so good at problem solving because not only did we find a video of the reindeer dancing in our classroom but we also thought of very creative ways to round them up and let Santa know where they were.
As part of our 'Winter' topic, we've been skyping our international partner schools. Here we are talking to our friends in Poland who told us all about winter in their country.
