Dear parent/legal guardian,
My name is Siri and I am the Holyland Capacity Worker with Forward South Partnership.
We have been organising a Holyland Winter Festival to take place next week, on Wednesday, 7th December. This is an all-day event with activities happening between 1.30 - 8.00pm.
We are starting at Botanic Primary School where Santa will be meeting the children and handing out Selection boxes to everyone. There will storytelling, balloon workshops and arts & craft workshops happening in the library of the school between 1.30-3.00pm.
Child-friendly stalls will be held between 3.30-5.30pm at the Chinese Welfare Association on Stranmillis Embankment (close to Ormeau Bridge) and outside at the Community Green along Collingwood Avenue. The festival is family friendly with a range of fun activities, food, and live music.
The highlight of the day will be an International Cultural Parade between 7.00-7.45pm, with many exciting acts talking part.
We have had the pleasure of involving Botanic Primary School, with P6 and P7 pupils taking part in an art workshop during the week to create their own lanterns.
We would be delighted if these pupils and their family members could join the parade on Wednesday evening, to ‘light up the Holyland’ with their beautiful lanterns.
We will meet outside Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, 77 University Street at 6.45pm (after the carol service) to prepare for the parade to commence. The route will take us down Rugby Road, along Agincourt Avenue, down Cadogan Street to the Chinese Welfare Association.
Your child will receive a leaflet through school as a reminder of this special day. We would be delighted to see you and your family then.
Best wishes,
Siri Meylahn
