Mrs McClenaghan, or as Mr Bell called her ‘Mrs Music’ has been a volunteer and valued member of the Botanic team for over 10years until her untimely death in 2022.
She gave freely of her time to assist with choir, music productions, school plays and even helped the pupils compose their own music for performances. She supported staff in growing a staff choir and it must also be said that Ruth often brought in the yummiest of cakes to boost staff spirit on a dreary Monday morning.
Mrs McClenaghan really put music in all of our hearts. She was one in a million and for all those reasons we continue to celebrate her as a most special volunteer, colleague and friend.

Summer Concert
Our Summer Concert was a great success! It was an amazing opportunity to showcase all of the musical talent we have in Botanic P.S.
We have been working with Jonathan from the Ulster Orchestra to prepare some pieces for the concert and he brought along some other musicians to accompany us. They even played a song for us, 'You've got a friend in me'.
The concert was also part of our celebrations for Botanic Primary School's 80th Anniversary!
Ulster Orchestra rehearsal
Another fantastic morning with Jonathan Simmance from the Ulster Orchestra practising for our summer concert!
He brought Greg the bassoon player with him and we got to hear him play. Look how tall the bassoon is compared to Katie in P6!
